Financial Review

Financial Review

With Government pressure to reduce the cost of saving and competition within the financial services industry the range of products and services available now is very different to that which existed 5 years ago.

As part of your financial planning we believe that you should review your position at least once a year.

To the left are some examples of how a regular review might help.

For many of us our Mortgage is the single largest investment that we make. The flexibility conferred by modern mortgages means that, with the right advice, a little strategic planning could save you money immediately.

Whether you are a homeowner or not an element of Protection should be in place to protect you and your family should you die or be unable to work due to accident or sickness. The cost of providing this cover has reduced significantly over recent years and should be included within your annual evaluation.

The advent of Stakeholder Pensions has forced insurance companies to dramatically reduce the costs involved in setting up and maintaining a pension arrangement with them. Any policy affected more than five years ago may well benefit from restructuring to reduce costs, potentially increase returns and reduce the volatility of its value by way of diversification.

Savings & Investments should be looked at each year regardless of your short or long term goals. Are you making use of your personal tax allowances? Are you paying unnecessary tax on the interest you are making? Does your investment fit within your risk profile and will it meet your needs? The factors involved in deciding to make an investment of any nature are constantly changing. Is your portfolio changing with them?

The four step approach to your financial review
  • Your current position: Together we complete a financial questionnaire. This enables us to acquire a comprehensive understanding of your personal circumstances, goals, financial objectives and attitude to risk. Our initial meeting will be free of charge and there is no obligation on your part.
  • Needs and objectives: At this stage we will analyse your needs in depth and agree remuneration for our professional service with you. We can work on a fee or commission basis, whichever suits you and the nature of the advice being given.
  • Research and recommendation: Having listened to you and evaluated your current position we will prepare a recommendation for you, using the latest technology to research the market. We summarise our recommendations and research in a "Reason Why" letter. We then send this to you as a permanent record of our advice.
  • The Way Forward: After agreeing our recommendation with you, we will put our solution into effect. We will then work together over the years to ensure that the they are still relevant and adapt your financial portfolio as your lifestyle and aspirations change.
